Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne was quoted as saying that if car makers didn’t rationalise and merge then they would go under. Lexus has released an official video of its Lexus LF-LC concept, winner of the ‘Best Concept Car' at the 2012 EyesOn Design Awards. The video features comments from the design team at the company's Calty studio in Newport Beach, California, including Project Chief Designer William Chergosky, Senior Creative Designers Edward Lee and Ben Chang, Studio Manager Ian Cartabiano as well as President Kevin Hunter. The LF-LC hybrid sports coupe is the result of a brief to the Calty team to design a future hybrid sports coupe concept.

The BAIC C70 debuted at the 2012 Beijing International Motor Show and is based on the previous-generation Saab 9-5. The C70G, designed by Pininfarina, retains the X-shaped brand badge, which derives the Chinese word ‘Bei', meaning North. Although the exterior design of the car is slightly conservative, elents such as the sharp feature lines found adorning the car's sides mean the C70G remains sleek and elegant.
